This winged roof gargoyle comes on a square ridge base which is perfect for square, pyramid, four sided and double hip roofs that have an apex to accept a finial. The ridge has a void on the underside and also is enclosed on all four sides so in addition to potentially fitting over hips or ridges on the roof it can also be used as a capping or gate pier of installed on a flat surface. It adds a beautiful feature to the roof and some interesting architectural detail

Void measurements: If you turn the finial upside down there is a 185mm (7") pyramid shaped void which is angled at 45°. The void may allow for the finial to fit over existing tiles or part of the roof structure depending on the angle or design of the roof (you can also install the finial on a flat base too). The full measurements of the pyramid void are as follows:
D: The depth of the void is 185mm (7"). L x W: The void starts off at 245mm x 245mm (9.75") at the widest point and narrows down to 20mm (1") at the thinnest point

Performance & Quality: Certified and tested to BS EN 490:2004 & BS EN 491:2004. The product is freeze\thaw resistant and the default finish is similar to the appearance of clay products
Installing the gargoyle: The gargoyle can be installed anywhere on the roof along the ridge line but typically they are installed on the end of a gable or hip end. If there are existing ridge tiles on the roof a ridge tile can be removed and the finial can be fitted in place with mortar to bed them in
Mechanical Fixing (Optional): Finials include a flexible metal strap on the underside of the ridge tile section out of view which allows optional mechanical fixing so the finial can be fixed to the roof structure with either a nail or screw and then the mortar bed then hides the metal strap and further strengthens the install. The metal strap is strong, flexible and can be uncoiled and cut to size
